Veiga Lopes Lima - Instrutor Veiga Instrutor Veiga was born in Fortaleza where he started Capoeira when he was 10 years old in the group Capoeira Brasil (Agua De Beber). In 2013 he moved to Athens, Greece where he continued his training creating friendships with all the groups of the city. In 2015 he started his studies at the Gymnastic University of Salonika. In 2016, for follow Mestre Primo, his mentor and friend, he decided to join the group Cordão de Ouro with the graduation of Instrutor and he created the group Cordão de Ouro Athens. Now Instrutor Veiga is spliting his life between his studies in Salonika where he is spending 3 days every week and the group of Capoeira in Athens. ********************************************** Renato Scarpelini Fernandes dos Santos - Mestre Primo Mestre Primo started Capoeira in the gym of his uncles, Mestre Ponciano and Mestre Zé Antônio, when he was five years old. In 2012 he tooks the degree in History at University of Taubaté and the graduation of Contra-Mestre. Until now he always joined the studies of history with the training of Capoeira working as a teacher in both the areas. In 2010 he moved to Bologna, Italy where he created a new group and in 2016, after 25 years of Capoeira, he becames Mestre. ********************************************** Ponciano Almeida - Mestre Ponciano Mestre Ponciano worked more than 40 years and he is still working with kids and adults in the city of Guaratinguetá. With his association "Capoeira Especial" he is working with public schools, associations, institutes and of cultural and educational organizations of the city. ********************************************** Reinaldo Ramos Suassuna - Grande Mestre Suassuna The Association of "Capoeira Cordão de Ouro" was founded by Mestre Suassuna in the 60s, more exactly in September, 1st 1967, together with Mestre Brasilia. After a short period, Mestre Brasilia´s decided to found his own group, São Bento Grande. Mestre Suassuna trained with some of the biggest Mestres of north-east of Brazil like Waldemar, Canjiquinha and Bimba. He moved to Sao Paulo, he continued his work with Capoeira and opened the first academy in the capital of the state. He has also contributed to the development of capoeira itself producing many shows, recordering some compact disks and teaching in workshops all around the world. Today, with numerous subsidiaries in Brazil and abroad, the Cordão de Ouro Group has an important role among all groups of capoeira, not only by representing the Master Suassuna for sport and culture, but also for the work done by him and their supporters. In order to keep poultry in a highly technical level, interacting speed, agility, resilience, creativity, music and malice, without forgetting its roots. Capoeira Cordão de Ouro was the birthplace of many prominent names like Mestre Ponciano, Mestre Zé Antônio and many others.
